NRP 70 "Energy Turnaround" and NRP 71 "Managing Energy Consumption": submission of 361 pre-proposals
In response to the call for proposals for NRP 70 "Energy Turnaround" and NRP 71 "Managing Energy Consumption", the Swiss National Science Foundation has received 361 pre-proposals. The total requested funding amounts to CHF 139,9 million. NRP 70 and NRP 71 have an overall research budget of CHF 40 million.
No less than 279 pre-proposals were submitted for NRP 70 "Energy Turnaround". The requested funding amounts to CHF 113,3 million in total, whereas NRP 70's research budget is limited to CHF 33 million. The pre-proposals comprise 44 joint projects and 29 single projects.
A total of 82 pre-proposals were received for NRP 71 "Managing Energy Consumption". The requested funding amounts to CHF 26,6 million in total, whereas NRP 71's research budget is limited to CHF 7 million. The pre-proposals are distributed across the four modules as follows:
- Society (module 1): 33
- Economy (module 2): 27
- Politics (module 3): 15
- Hand in hand research on practical interventions (module 4): 7
The pre-proposals will be evaluated by early 2014. Subsequently, the SNSF will invite the researchers whose pre-proposals were selected to submit a full proposal.
