Completed research project: Determinants of energy-efficiency Investments
The completed NRP 71 project tested the extent to which energy management significantly enhances companies’ perception of the strategic character of energy-efficiency investments.
Investments in energy efficiency often remain undecided because companies do not perceive its strategic characteristics. Based on the responses of 305 surveyed companies, the NRP 71 project "Determinants of energy-efficiency investments" headed by Rolf Iten came to the conclusion that
- companies that consider energy efficiency to be strategically relevant tend to have a high or higher level of energy management,
- laws and regulations are effective in particular in companies whose management is not interested in the theme of energy efficiency.
